Narrative:

Evening visual approach into pdk airport. The controller cleared me to land and I understand it to be runway 2R. I read back runway 2L on the radio for some reason was mistaken and made the approach to runway 2R on the long runway. After touchdown I saw an airplane taxiing off the runway and my instructor took the airplane and swerved right to avoid hitting the aircraft. I fully acknowledge my mistake in landing on runway 2R instead of runway 2L. Supplemental information from acn 759930: on a VFR evening flight I was the instructor for an aircraft check-out training session. We were instructed to enter left base for runway 2L and the PF acknowledged runway 2L. The PF and I both mistakenly made the mental error that we were cleared for runway 2R. After touchdown on runway 2R I noticed the tail strobe of a small single engine low wing; possibly a cherokee mid-field nearly stopped after he had landed. I took control of the aircraft and braked and swerved to the right to avoid a collision with the other aircraft. We missed the other aircraft and called the tower.

Title: INSTRUCTOR AND STUDENT RECEIVING LIGHT TWIN CHECK OUT; LAND ON RWY 2R AT PDK AFTER RECEIVING CLEARANCE TO LAND ON 2L. EVASIVE ACTION IS NEEDED TO MISS GA ACFT STOPPED ON RWY 2R.

Narrative: EVENING VISUAL APCH INTO PDK ARPT. THE CTLR CLRED ME TO LAND AND I UNDERSTAND IT TO BE RWY 2R. I READ BACK RWY 2L ON THE RADIO FOR SOME REASON WAS MISTAKEN AND MADE THE APCH TO RWY 2R ON THE LONG RWY. AFTER TOUCHDOWN I SAW AN AIRPLANE TAXIING OFF THE RWY AND MY INSTRUCTOR TOOK THE AIRPLANE AND SWERVED R TO AVOID HITTING THE ACFT. I FULLY ACKNOWLEDGE MY MISTAKE IN LNDG ON RWY 2R INSTEAD OF RWY 2L. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 759930: ON A VFR EVENING FLT I WAS THE INSTRUCTOR FOR AN ACFT CHK-OUT TRAINING SESSION. WE WERE INSTRUCTED TO ENTER L BASE FOR RWY 2L AND THE PF ACKNOWLEDGED RWY 2L. THE PF AND I BOTH MISTAKENLY MADE THE MENTAL ERROR THAT WE WERE CLRED FOR RWY 2R. AFTER TOUCHDOWN ON RWY 2R I NOTICED THE TAIL STROBE OF A SMALL SINGLE ENG LOW WING; POSSIBLY A CHEROKEE MID-FIELD NEARLY STOPPED AFTER HE HAD LANDED. I TOOK CTL OF THE ACFT AND BRAKED AND SWERVED TO THE R TO AVOID A COLLISION WITH THE OTHER ACFT. WE MISSED THE OTHER ACFT AND CALLED THE TWR.
