Narrative:

En route noticed oil quantity dropping slowly. We monitored the oil quantity and when it fell to about 6 quarts we started conferring with maintenance. The QRH and maintenance control indicated continued engine operation unless oil temperature or pressure became abnormal. When oil pressure started to drop; we advised ATC that we would be diverting. We shut down the engine as the oil pressure dropped out of the green arc. The shutdown checklist was completed by the time the oil pressure dropped to about 25 psi. We landed uneventfully about 20 mins later.
