Narrative:

After pushback; we received a wave off from the ground crew. We completed our after start flows and the after start checklist. We extended our flaps to the 5 position. We called ramp control and we were released to ground control. We called ground control and we were cleared to taxi. We cleared the outside left and right and I spooled up the engines to breakaway thrust. Just as the airplane started to move; a contract ground operations truck approached us from the 1 O'clock position and blocked our path. 2 people jumped out. 1 person ran to the communications panel on the right side of the airplane. The other person ran in front of the nose and gave me the stop signal. It appears that they had failed to close the door on the communications panel and they came back to close it. My problem is that they should have made radio contact with us when approaching the aircraft after wave off. We cleared both sides of the aircraft before taxi; and we were fortunate that the first officer did not go back heads down after clearing outside. I did not see the truck approaching until after the first officer told me to stop and the person appeared in front of the nose of the airplane. Follow basic safety procedures and make radio contact with an airplane before approaching after wave off.

Title: ACR FLT CREW REPORTS GROUND VEHICLE BLOCKING THEIR TURN OUT OF PARKING TO GET THEIR ATTENTION AND ALLOW THE CLOSING OF A COMMUNICATIONS PANEL WHICH HAD BEEN LEFT OPEN.

Narrative: AFTER PUSHBACK; WE RECEIVED A WAVE OFF FROM THE GND CREW. WE COMPLETED OUR AFTER START FLOWS AND THE AFTER START CHKLIST. WE EXTENDED OUR FLAPS TO THE 5 POS. WE CALLED RAMP CTL AND WE WERE RELEASED TO GND CTL. WE CALLED GND CTL AND WE WERE CLRED TO TAXI. WE CLRED THE OUTSIDE L AND R AND I SPOOLED UP THE ENGS TO BREAKAWAY THRUST. JUST AS THE AIRPLANE STARTED TO MOVE; A CONTRACT GND OPS TRUCK APCHED US FROM THE 1 O'CLOCK POS AND BLOCKED OUR PATH. 2 PEOPLE JUMPED OUT. 1 PERSON RAN TO THE COMS PANEL ON THE R SIDE OF THE AIRPLANE. THE OTHER PERSON RAN IN FRONT OF THE NOSE AND GAVE ME THE STOP SIGNAL. IT APPEARS THAT THEY HAD FAILED TO CLOSE THE DOOR ON THE COMS PANEL AND THEY CAME BACK TO CLOSE IT. MY PROB IS THAT THEY SHOULD HAVE MADE RADIO CONTACT WITH US WHEN APCHING THE ACFT AFTER WAVE OFF. WE CLRED BOTH SIDES OF THE ACFT BEFORE TAXI; AND WE WERE FORTUNATE THAT THE FO DID NOT GO BACK HEADS DOWN AFTER CLRING OUTSIDE. I DID NOT SEE THE TRUCK APCHING UNTIL AFTER THE FO TOLD ME TO STOP AND THE PERSON APPEARED IN FRONT OF THE NOSE OF THE AIRPLANE. FOLLOW BASIC SAFETY PROCS AND MAKE RADIO CONTACT WITH AN AIRPLANE BEFORE APCHING AFTER WAVE OFF.
