Narrative:

After a reduced rest overnight (8 hours rest) in cle; we were given a confusing taxi clearance to runway 24R. We taxied out with ramp control to spot X. Ramp control sent us to ground control. Our taxi checklist had been completed after pushback. I wanted to ensure the first officer was watching the taxi out. Cle has major construction with runway 24L and various txwys being closed. We were told 'taxi to runway 6R; turn left on taxiway alpha; left on taxiway romeo; hold short runway 24 center at taxiway bravo.' the tricky part is taxiway B is on the other side of runway 24. Runways 24L and 24C are very close to each other. I ensured final was clear and I was looking for a taxiway B sign. It is on the other side of runway 24C. A better clearance would have been to hold short of runway 24C at taxiway right. This is confusing with all of the construction going on at cle. Please reference communication charts for airport diagrams.

Title: CL65 FLT CREW WAS GIVEN CONFUSING TAXI INSTRUCTIONS AT CLE DURING PERIOD OF RWY CLOSURE.

Narrative: AFTER A REDUCED REST OVERNIGHT (8 HRS REST) IN CLE; WE WERE GIVEN A CONFUSING TAXI CLRNC TO RWY 24R. WE TAXIED OUT WITH RAMP CTL TO SPOT X. RAMP CTL SENT US TO GND CTL. OUR TAXI CHKLIST HAD BEEN COMPLETED AFTER PUSHBACK. I WANTED TO ENSURE THE FO WAS WATCHING THE TAXI OUT. CLE HAS MAJOR CONSTRUCTION WITH RWY 24L AND VARIOUS TXWYS BEING CLOSED. WE WERE TOLD 'TAXI TO RWY 6R; TURN L ON TXWY ALPHA; L ON TXWY ROMEO; HOLD SHORT RWY 24 CTR AT TXWY BRAVO.' THE TRICKY PART IS TXWY B IS ON THE OTHER SIDE OF RWY 24. RWYS 24L AND 24C ARE VERY CLOSE TO EACH OTHER. I ENSURED FINAL WAS CLR AND I WAS LOOKING FOR A TXWY B SIGN. IT IS ON THE OTHER SIDE OF RWY 24C. A BETTER CLRNC WOULD HAVE BEEN TO HOLD SHORT OF RWY 24C AT TXWY R. THIS IS CONFUSING WITH ALL OF THE CONSTRUCTION GOING ON AT CLE. PLEASE REF COM CHARTS FOR ARPT DIAGRAMS.
