We provide tv coverage of major sporting events. I was flying in the tfr for an event at 2500 ft MSL over the stadium. I have a waiver from the tsa for the event. I had contacted the tower and faxed the waiver to them. They acknowledged receipt; issued a beacon code and cleared me to the stadium. Upon handoff to approach; the controller queried my activity and after some discussion; gave me permission to operate in the tfr. I called the TRACON on landing. They were upset because no one had informed them of our operation.(?) I was led to believe that the tower had informed them. Apparently this did not take place. It seems there is a lack of understanding and communication between the FAA facilities concerning waivered operations inside sporting event tfr's. In addition; several light aircraft were allowed to fly through the active tfr (0-3000 ft AGL) during the 5 hours I was orbiting the stadium. One passed within 300 ft of me without any warning from the controller. In future; I will take it upon myself to notify the tower and the approach control.

Title: SPORTS COVERAGE PLT EXPRESSED CONCERN REGARDING LACK OF COM BETWEEN TWR AND TRACON REFERENCE TFR AUTHORITY.
Narrative: WE PROVIDE TV COVERAGE OF MAJOR SPORTING EVENTS. I WAS FLYING IN THE TFR FOR AN EVENT AT 2500 FT MSL OVER THE STADIUM. I HAVE A WAIVER FROM THE TSA FOR THE EVENT. I HAD CONTACTED THE TWR AND FAXED THE WAIVER TO THEM. THEY ACKNOWLEDGED RECEIPT; ISSUED A BEACON CODE AND CLRED ME TO THE STADIUM. UPON HDOF TO APCH; THE CTLR QUERIED MY ACTIVITY AND AFTER SOME DISCUSSION; GAVE ME PERMISSION TO OPERATE IN THE TFR. I CALLED THE TRACON ON LNDG. THEY WERE UPSET BECAUSE NO ONE HAD INFORMED THEM OF OUR OP.(?) I WAS LED TO BELIEVE THAT THE TWR HAD INFORMED THEM. APPARENTLY THIS DID NOT TAKE PLACE. IT SEEMS THERE IS A LACK OF UNDERSTANDING AND COM BTWN THE FAA FACILITIES CONCERNING WAIVERED OPS INSIDE SPORTING EVENT TFR'S. IN ADDITION; SEVERAL LIGHT ACFT WERE ALLOWED TO FLY THROUGH THE ACTIVE TFR (0-3000 FT AGL) DURING THE 5 HRS I WAS ORBITING THE STADIUM. ONE PASSED WITHIN 300 FT OF ME WITHOUT ANY WARNING FROM THE CTLR. IN FUTURE; I WILL TAKE IT UPON MYSELF TO NOTIFY THE TWR AND THE APCH CTL.
