Narrative:

I was flying east at 2000 ft level. Cno tower called traffic 10 O'clock; 2 mi. When I observed traffic out of the sun; it was 10 O'clock close. The helicopter was coming toward me. I knew from cno that he was orbiting. I did not know if he was turning north or south. If he had turned north; it would have been no factor. He turned south. This caused me to turn south and rapidly descend to avoid. I don't think the helicopter was in contact with cno tower because I did not hear the tower call him with traffic. Cno tower called the traffic at 1900 ft; I was at 2000 ft. I think the helicopter was 2000 ft.
