Narrative:

This event/situation occurred while on approach to ZZZ airport. The aircraft had just leveled at 8000 ft MSL and was decelerating to 220 KIAS (assigned by approach control). At that time; the flight crew observed a left engine low oil pressure light and red instrument readings for the left engine oil pressure gauge. In addition; the rollback of all engine instruments for the left engine was confirmed. All appropriate non-normal and normal checklists were accomplished with an emergency being declared with ATC. The flight crew requested vectors to ZZZ2 and performed a safe/uneventful single engine landing at ZZZ2.
