Narrative:

Crew fatigue. On descent into ZZZ; received ACARS to call crew desk. Ramp controller also asked captain to call crew desk. Gate agent meeting aircraft asked captain to call crew desk. After postflt checklists were completed; I called crew desk and was notified of add-on flying; adding a ZZZ1 turn after sitting in ZZZ for 2 hours 36 mins. I refused add-on assignment due to fatigue. Root cause of fatigue can be traced to earlier in the week. While flying; I experienced essentially 3 nights with minimal to no sleep. First night in hotel; the room was heat-soaked. The air conditioner was extremely noisy. I attempted to cool room prior to sleeping but soon awoke to a hot room. I tried to sleep with the air conditioner running but that did not work either. Having stayed there before; I am confident all rooms have this same issue. The next evening (late) I noticed an intermittent alarm going off; similar to an alarm clock. I soon notified the front desk. They denied hearing any noise and refused to change rooms. After approximately 2 hours; the hotel manager did find a smoke alarm activating in the room below mine. Then they offered to change my room. Since I now only had 1 hour 30 mins before the very early departure; I resigned and began preparing for another day. Several other crew members had the same experience. The crew desk then added additional flts to the trip. The third night of the trip was spent at an old hotel. This hotel has old single-pane windows that provide minimal sound blocking. The sirens from the all-night police/fire/ambulances again interrupted my sleep several times. The fourth night; I slept at home but had to wake very early for another early departure. On the fifth day on duty; the day began very early. I briefly napped on the ground in ZZZ2; and consumed a coke hoping the sugar and caffeine would heighten my mental alertness; something I very rarely do. Upon arriving in ZZZ; crew desk attempted to add ZZZ1 turn. As stated earlier; I was absolutely exhausted and refused the assignment.

Title: B737-300 CAPTAIN REFUSES ADDITIONAL FLT ASSIGNMENTS DUE TO FATIGUE ASSOCIATED WITH PRECEDING ONEROUS WORK CYCLE.

Narrative: CREW FATIGUE. ON DSCNT INTO ZZZ; RECEIVED ACARS TO CALL CREW DESK. RAMP CTLR ALSO ASKED CAPT TO CALL CREW DESK. GATE AGENT MEETING ACFT ASKED CAPT TO CALL CREW DESK. AFTER POSTFLT CHKLISTS WERE COMPLETED; I CALLED CREW DESK AND WAS NOTIFIED OF ADD-ON FLYING; ADDING A ZZZ1 TURN AFTER SITTING IN ZZZ FOR 2 HRS 36 MINS. I REFUSED ADD-ON ASSIGNMENT DUE TO FATIGUE. ROOT CAUSE OF FATIGUE CAN BE TRACED TO EARLIER IN THE WK. AFTER APPROX 2 HRS; THE HOTEL MGR DID FIND A SMOKE ALARM ACTIVATING IN THE ROOM BELOW MINE. THEN THEY OFFERED TO CHANGE MY ROOM. SINCE I NOW ONLY HAD 1 HR 30 MINS BEFORE THE VERY EARLY DEP; I RESIGNED AND BEGAN PREPARING FOR ANOTHER DAY. THE FOURTH NIGHT; I SLEPT AT HOME BUT HAD TO WAKE VERY EARLY FOR ANOTHER EARLY DEP. ON THE FIFTH DAY ON DUTY; THE DAY BEGAN VERY EARLY. I BRIEFLY NAPPED ON THE GND IN ZZZ2; AND CONSUMED A COKE HOPING THE SUGAR AND CAFFEINE WOULD HEIGHTEN MY MENTAL ALERTNESS; SOMETHING I VERY RARELY DO. UPON ARRIVING IN ZZZ; CREW DESK ATTEMPTED TO ADD ZZZ1 TURN. AS STATED EARLIER; I WAS ABSOLUTELY EXHAUSTED AND REFUSED THE ASSIGNMENT.
