Aircraft arrived with complaint of egt exceedance of 962 degrees for 26 seconds. This condition would be ok for service using maintenance manual area excursion doesn't require immediate action. However; fim requires a borescope of hp compressor and turbine for area a incursion. Maintenance control recommended using maintenance manual limits.

Title: A B767-300ER ACFT ENGINE HAD EGT EXCEEDANCE OF 962 DEGREES FOR 26 SECONDS. CONFLICT BETWEEN THE MM AND THE FIM FOR REQUIRED BORESCOPE OF THE HP COMPRESSOR AND TURBINE SECTION.
Narrative: ACFT ARRIVED WITH COMPLAINT OF EGT EXCEEDANCE OF 962 DEGS FOR 26 SECONDS. THIS CONDITION WOULD BE OK FOR SVC USING MAINT MANUAL AREA EXCURSION DOESN'T REQUIRE IMMEDIATE ACTION. HOWEVER; FIM REQUIRES A BORESCOPE OF HP COMPRESSOR AND TURBINE FOR AREA A INCURSION. MAINT CTL RECOMMENDED USING MAINT MANUAL LIMITS.
