Narrative:

Our taxi route always takes us from the southern end of Y taxiway eastbound. At the eastern end of the ramp area; an extremely bright yellow floodlight shines westbound; illuminating a vehicle gate and roadway which runs adjacent to the taxi path. The intensity of this light makes aircraft movements at night; and especially during rain; difficult. Seeing the pavement and any objects/personnel/aircraft in the area is difficult. Lowering the intensity of the lamp or relocating it may help.
