Narrative:

The 2000 ft extension of runway 6/24 was commissioned jul/xa/07. Local management failed to provide the controller workforce with anything more than a cursory brief on the effects of this change. Further; since they were unable to obtain the certified distances of intxns on the runway extension; they prohibited intersection departures from all points on the airport except on runway 24 at intersection A7. This despite the fact that there were no changes to runway 18/36. Controllers are left confused as to how to work the situation.

Narrative: THE 2000 FT EXTENSION OF RWY 6/24 WAS COMMISSIONED JUL/XA/07. LCL MGMNT FAILED TO PROVIDE THE CTLR WORKFORCE WITH ANYTHING MORE THAN A CURSORY BRIEF ON THE EFFECTS OF THIS CHANGE. FURTHER; SINCE THEY WERE UNABLE TO OBTAIN THE CERTIFIED DISTANCES OF INTXNS ON THE RWY EXTENSION; THEY PROHIBITED INTXN DEPS FROM ALL POINTS ON THE ARPT EXCEPT ON RWY 24 AT INTXN A7.
