Narrative:

At top of climb; received right bleed duct warning. Immediately feeling the cabin pressure anomalies; we requested and received an expedited descent to a lower altitude. But before we could run the applicable QRH procedure and for reasons unknown; both packs went off line causing a rapid climb in cabin altitude; approximately 2500 FPM. Upon receiving the cabin altitude caution message; we declared an emergency with ATC and initiated an emergency descent to 10000 ft. Given that the cabin altitude was at a normal 5000 ft prior to the malfunction; the cabin altitude caution message quickly appeared followed by an altitude warning; then the automatic deployment of the cabin oxygen masks. After the emergency descent was completed; we diverted to ZZZ which was only about 20 mi away. The remainder of the flight was completed uneventfully. The only additional problem was reported by the aft flight attendant whose drop-down oxygen mask did not properly deploy forcing her to get up from her jump seat.

Title: CRJ 700 BLEED DUCT FAILURE RESULTED IN AIR CONDITIONING PACK FAILURE. ACFT LOST CABIN PRESSURE AND EMER DESCENT WAS INITIATED TO A LANDING AT NEAREST ARPT.

Narrative: AT TOP OF CLB; RECEIVED R BLEED DUCT WARNING. IMMEDIATELY FEELING THE CABIN PRESSURE ANOMALIES; WE REQUESTED AND RECEIVED AN EXPEDITED DSCNT TO A LOWER ALT. BUT BEFORE WE COULD RUN THE APPLICABLE QRH PROC AND FOR REASONS UNKNOWN; BOTH PACKS WENT OFF LINE CAUSING A RAPID CLB IN CABIN ALT; APPROX 2500 FPM. UPON RECEIVING THE CABIN ALT CAUTION MESSAGE; WE DECLARED AN EMER WITH ATC AND INITIATED AN EMER DSCNT TO 10000 FT. GIVEN THAT THE CABIN ALT WAS AT A NORMAL 5000 FT PRIOR TO THE MALFUNCTION; THE CABIN ALT CAUTION MESSAGE QUICKLY APPEARED FOLLOWED BY AN ALT WARNING; THEN THE AUTO DEPLOYMENT OF THE CABIN OXYGEN MASKS. AFTER THE EMER DSCNT WAS COMPLETED; WE DIVERTED TO ZZZ WHICH WAS ONLY ABOUT 20 MI AWAY. THE REMAINDER OF THE FLT WAS COMPLETED UNEVENTFULLY. THE ONLY ADDITIONAL PROB WAS RPTED BY THE AFT FLT ATTENDANT WHOSE DROP-DOWN OXYGEN MASK DID NOT PROPERLY DEPLOY FORCING HER TO GET UP FROM HER JUMP SEAT.
