Narrative:

Concern over hydraulic lines being worn. While doing my normal preflight walkaround inspections the last few months; I have observed numerous aircraft; both B737 3+4 with hydraulic lines connected to the aileron power control unit. That may be a problem in the future. The PCU is located forward in the main wheel well forward and left of a system reservoir. The hydraulic lines; one clear and one white; connect from overhead the top PCU. These lines are rubbing against the PCU mechanisms and a lock nut with a cotter pin causing wear on these lines. Not all aircraft have shown wear. Some seemed to have been clamped so as to not rub; the lower PCU has the same type lines but I haven't observed much wear. I have pointed out my concerns to several mechanics at various stations in our system and they contacted maintenance control.

Narrative: CONCERN OVER HYD LINES BEING WORN. WHILE DOING MY NORMAL PREFLT WALKAROUND INSPECTIONS THE LAST FEW MONTHS; I HAVE OBSERVED NUMEROUS ACFT; BOTH B737 3+4 WITH HYD LINES CONNECTED TO THE AILERON PWR CTL UNIT. SOME SEEMED TO HAVE BEEN CLAMPED SO AS TO NOT RUB; THE LOWER PCU HAS THE SAME TYPE LINES BUT I HAVEN'T OBSERVED MUCH WEAR. I HAVE POINTED OUT MY CONCERNS TO SEVERAL MECHS AT VARIOUS STATIONS IN OUR SYS AND THEY CONTACTED MAINT CTL.
