Narrative:

PA32 was vectored heading 290 degrees at 4000 ft and C182 was vectored behind at 4000 ft heading 200 degrees. The tmc resequenced PA32 requiring me to vector the aircraft. I assigned heading 090 degrees; but I meant to assign heading 270 degrees. Upon recognizing the conflict I turned C182 to heading 090 degrees and descending him to 3000 ft. The pilot then asked 'was that for C182?' and separation was lost shortly afterward.
