Narrative:

During the early morning hours of the all night flight to egkk it became necessary to illuminate the seat belt lights. I asked the first officer to pull the circuit breaker for the PA system so the loud 'ding' wouldn't wake the passenger. I didn't tell him to push the circuit breaker back in after the seat belt lights were illuminated. And; he didn't remember to put it in. Later; during the early morning approach; we did not have an operative PA until taxi in; when the flight attendants realized that PA's were not getting transmitted to the passenger. I will never pull that breaker again. It is going too far for passenger comfort.
