Narrative:

I was informed that pylon panel 5727L was missing from aircraft. After maintenance during 'C' check in ZZZ; during the check the panel was removed for inspection. After the inspection; I reinstalled the panel; torqued fasteners with lock position indicators in proper alignment. So you can see how surprised I was to hear the panel departed the plane. Supplemental information from acn 731108: inspected all access panels on #1 engine pylon for incorrect installation and alignment of index marks on all fasteners. I saw no problems with any panels.
