Narrative:

During gear retraction; the gear unsafe light remained on with the hydraulic pump running continuously. I continued with the normal procedures and after the completion of the after takeoff checklist; proceeded with the QRH. Following QRH procedures we cycled the gear once and had the same result. So we put the gear down (3 green) and returned for normal landing as the QRH states a landing at nearest airport. Crash fire rescue equipment was requested and present for our landing but not used as a normal landing and taxi to gate was accomplished.

Title: SF34 FLT CREW ENCOUNTER GEAR UNSAFE CONDITION AFTER RETRACTION. CONDUCT QRH PROCEDURES AND RETURN FOR SAFE LANDING.

Narrative: DURING GEAR RETRACTION; THE GEAR UNSAFE LIGHT REMAINED ON WITH THE HYD PUMP RUNNING CONTINUOUSLY. CFR WAS REQUESTED AND PRESENT FOR OUR LNDG BUT NOT USED AS A NORMAL LNDG AND TAXI TO GATE WAS ACCOMPLISHED.
