Narrative:

At cruise at FL370; the captain had just hung up with the purser when I heard ATC say '--?-- descend to FL350 with at least 2000 FPM.' the captain keyed the microphone and said; 'verify that was for air carrier X expedite down to FL350?' she replied; 'affirmative.' I used vertical speed to begin the descent. Passing FL367; the controller said; 'air carrier Y continue the expedited descent to FL330.' he responded as the captain and I looked at each other and I began to stop the descent. Before he could key the microphone; the controller said; 'air carrier X verify level FL370.' we responded that we had taken the clearance and were now climbing back to FL370. She responded 'roger; be advised; air carrier Y also on frequency.'
