Narrative:

I read all the chart pages for mhtg arrs and departures. The last requirement for my mhtg qualification was to observe the flight in and out of the mhtg airport from the jump seat. Observation from the jump seat was completely useless as a training aid. I could not see the instruments or outside visually well enough to get anything out of the experience. I believe that this may be the most challenging and otherwise dangerous airport that our company flies into. I do not believe that I am qualified in my knowledge or skill to act as the first officer on a future flight in and out of mhtg. I highly recommend that the first officer's receive training from the right seat with a check airman several times before acting as a qualified crew member into this airport.

Title: B757-200 FO FEELS TRAINING FOR FLTS TO MHTG IS INADEQUATE.

Narrative: I READ ALL THE CHART PAGES FOR MHTG ARRS AND DEPS. THE LAST REQUIREMENT FOR MY MHTG QUALIFICATION WAS TO OBSERVE THE FLT IN AND OUT OF THE MHTG ARPT FROM THE JUMP SEAT. OBSERVATION FROM THE JUMP SEAT WAS COMPLETELY USELESS AS A TRAINING AID. I COULD NOT SEE THE INSTS OR OUTSIDE VISUALLY WELL ENOUGH TO GET ANYTHING OUT OF THE EXPERIENCE. I BELIEVE THAT THIS MAY BE THE MOST CHALLENGING AND OTHERWISE DANGEROUS ARPT THAT OUR COMPANY FLIES INTO. I DO NOT BELIEVE THAT I AM QUALIFIED IN MY KNOWLEDGE OR SKILL TO ACT AS THE FO ON A FUTURE FLT IN AND OUT OF MHTG. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT THE FO'S RECEIVE TRAINING FROM THE R SEAT WITH A CHK AIRMAN SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE ACTING AS A QUALIFIED CREW MEMBER INTO THIS ARPT.
