Narrative:

The tires used on this aircraft were the wrong effectivity. These tires were on a tire cart that was brought to the aircraft by another employee. The tires were installed and I didn't notice the B-300/-500 on the serviceable parts tag. Up to this point; I didn't realize the B-700 wheels had the 'identification' tags. I did read the technician notice; but did not understand it completely at the time. I have since reviewed the technician notice to become clear of its intentions. I have since looked at the tires in stock to physically see the differences. With this knowledge now completely clear; I will ensure this doesn't happen again and I can point this out when working with a new employee. One thing that may have caught my attention to prevent this is that if the tag number for the B-300/-500 started with a 3 and the tag number for the B-700 started with a 7.
