Narrative:

I was preparing to reposition my aircraft from my air carrier's ramp in portland international airport to the customer's ramp. After engine start; but prior to entering the airport movement area; I had a heated discussion with dispatch over the radio concerning what is now a trivial issue. Still angry; I began to taxi on a route that takes me from the ramp via a taxiway across the runway (then inactive) then via another taxiway to the customer's ramp. About halfway across the runway; I realized that in my state of mind; I had neglected to call ground control and receive authority/authorized for the reposition.
