Narrative:
Mechanic avionics was told not able xfer harness for power ports. Harness were swapped nowhere does it authority/authorized to do so. My mechanic called to placard power port -- found hooked up. Lead technician and management said seat needs to be changed.

Title: A B757 HAD CABIN SEAT PWR PORT PWR PROBS. SEAT HARNESSES WERE SWAPPED PER MANUAL. OTHER RPTED FAILURES REQUIRED SEAT REPLACEMENT.
Narrative: MECH AVIONICS WAS TOLD NOT ABLE XFER HARNESS FOR PWR PORTS. HARNESS WERE SWAPPED NOWHERE DOES IT AUTH TO DO SO. MY MECH CALLED TO PLACARD PWR PORT -- FOUND HOOKED UP. LEAD TECHNICIAN AND MGMNT SAID SEAT NEEDS TO BE CHANGED.
