Narrative:

We were assigned the winco 1 RNAV departure out of my mia. Tower assigned a heading of 090 degrees after takeoff; which we thought was a heading to intercept the RNAV departure track. When we reached senoy we turned nwbound on the RNAV departure but departure control informed us that we were to fly the assigned heading until they cleared us onto the departure. The ATIS indicated that RNAV departure will be assigned a heading. I believed that the whole purpose to the RNAV departure is for us to fly the track. This is the emphasis at dfw anyway. I think there is some confusion that needs to be cleared up from the mia tower and departure controllers.

Title: B757 FLT CREW HAS A TRACK AND HDG DEV DURING DEP FROM MIA.

Narrative: WE WERE ASSIGNED THE WINCO 1 RNAV DEP OUT OF MY MIA. TWR ASSIGNED A HDG OF 090 DEGS AFTER TKOF; WHICH WE THOUGHT WAS A HDG TO INTERCEPT THE RNAV DEP TRACK. WHEN WE REACHED SENOY WE TURNED NWBOUND ON THE RNAV DEP BUT DEP CTL INFORMED US THAT WE WERE TO FLY THE ASSIGNED HDG UNTIL THEY CLRED US ONTO THE DEP. THE ATIS INDICATED THAT RNAV DEP WILL BE ASSIGNED A HDG. I BELIEVED THAT THE WHOLE PURPOSE TO THE RNAV DEP IS FOR US TO FLY THE TRACK. THIS IS THE EMPHASIS AT DFW ANYWAY. I THINK THERE IS SOME CONFUSION THAT NEEDS TO BE CLRED UP FROM THE MIA TWR AND DEP CTLRS.
