Narrative:

Taxi out at phl: started engines completed checklist began taxiing on marshaller's signal. Wing walkers were in place. After a short distance; maybe 25 ft; marshaller abruptly signaled stop and we did. Mechanic pulled up; plugged in and told us to shut down; that we had bumped wingtips with the aircraft parked next to us (our right). Supplemental information from acn 720842: the problem arose with the planes parked too close and the marshallers not paying attention. If we would park the aircraft in a safer manner; ie; further apart; it would not have happened. The maintenance man was very helpful during the shutdown process.
