Narrative:

Filed/cleared flight plan with the delro 1 arrival into iad after lrp. I took the clearance and the other pilot entered the route into the FMS. I never checked it; although it is my habit to do so. As we found out later; the arrival never was entered into the FMS. Crossing lrp; I was getting the ATIS at iad. As I came back on frequency; new york asks if we were left on a vector or if we are proceeding direct to hyper. This was the alert that we were off course. I looked at the FMS; saw the problem; and fixed it as the PF turned about 20 degrees to the right to join the proper course. We had actually been lrp direct to iad. The CDI never showed full-scale deflection; but almost. Some questions and answers occurred between new york and me; but the controller was satisfied when I told him that we were on the arrival; proceeding to delro. However; he didn't seem happy -- and neither was I. The other pilot only remarked that; 'I thought I put that in there.'
