Narrative:

I was instructing a private pilot in a plane he had just purchased. After our third departure from runway 20 the tower ask us to do a 180 degrees for a landing on runway 2 since a learjet was on an extended final from the south. The engine failed approximately 1/2 mi from the end of the runway during our 180 degrees so we were able to land and even taxi clear of the runway with the propeller stopped. After pushing the plane to the hangar we determined the cause of engine stoppage was fuel blockage. After correcting the blockage we flew again that day. The fuel blockage from the wing tank was caused by the unfolding of the wing resulting in a pinched fuel line. Draining fuel from the 2 gal header tank did not reveal the flow problem. When unfolding the wing on this type of aircraft it is important to be sure the fuel line is not pinched.

Title: A KITFOX 11 AT 2000 FT EXPERIENCED ENG FAILURE DUE TO FUEL FEED PROB. GLIDED TO ARPT AND LANDED WITH NO DAMAGE. FOUND FUEL LINE PINCHED AT WING FOLD.

Narrative: I WAS INSTRUCTING A PVT PLT IN A PLANE HE HAD JUST PURCHASED. AFTER OUR THIRD DEP FROM RWY 20 THE TWR ASK US TO DO A 180 DEGS FOR A LNDG ON RWY 2 SINCE A LEARJET WAS ON AN EXTENDED FINAL FROM THE S. THE ENG FAILED APPROX 1/2 MI FROM THE END OF THE RWY DURING OUR 180 DEGS SO WE WERE ABLE TO LAND AND EVEN TAXI CLR OF THE RWY WITH THE PROP STOPPED. AFTER PUSHING THE PLANE TO THE HANGAR WE DETERMINED THE CAUSE OF ENG STOPPAGE WAS FUEL BLOCKAGE. AFTER CORRECTING THE BLOCKAGE WE FLEW AGAIN THAT DAY. THE FUEL BLOCKAGE FROM THE WING TANK WAS CAUSED BY THE UNFOLDING OF THE WING RESULTING IN A PINCHED FUEL LINE. DRAINING FUEL FROM THE 2 GAL HEADER TANK DID NOT REVEAL THE FLOW PROB. WHEN UNFOLDING THE WING ON THIS TYPE OF ACFT IT IS IMPORTANT TO BE SURE THE FUEL LINE IS NOT PINCHED.
