Aircraft X CAT status not downgraded when #2 reverser placarded inoperative. Aircraft arrived with the #2 reverser overhead light illuminated. Performed bite/reset and cleared log. Just prior to departure time; flight crew operated reverser and fault returned. Reverser placard inoperative and deferred special procedures accomplished. Downgrade was missed.

Narrative: ACFT X CAT STATUS NOT DOWNGRADED WHEN #2 REVERSER PLACARDED INOP. ACFT ARRIVED WITH THE #2 REVERSER OVERHEAD LIGHT ILLUMINATED. PERFORMED BITE/RESET AND CLRED LOG. JUST PRIOR TO DEP TIME; FLT CREW OPERATED REVERSER AND FAULT RETURNED. REVERSER PLACARD INOP AND DEFERRED SPECIAL PROCS ACCOMPLISHED. DOWNGRADE WAS MISSED.
