Narrative:
I was flying VFR cross country coming from granbury; tx. I was flying a 280 degree course; into the sun; with a strong headwind. My destination was cvn. As I was flying/arriving into the local area; the sun fell below the horizon. The town and local area were just starting to turn on the city lights. I pulled up the local winds and information off the local AWOS (winds were 220 degrees at 9 KTS). At the 10 mi out point; I started my radio calls on the local frequency; giving my present position and intention. Through dusk (as it was transitioning from day to night); I saw the airport that I believed to be clovis airport. I lined up to land on runway 22 and landed. Instead of it being clovis airport; it was cannon AFB (cvs). Note: cannon AFB and clovis airport both have the same runways; 22 and 4.
