Both aircraft level flight. First sighting 2.5 mi plus separation; closest approximately 500 ft horizontal; 20-30 ft vertical. Approximately time from first sight to evasive action 15 seconds. After observing no indication of action from other aircraft made 20 degree left turn to pass behind converging aircraft.
