Narrative:

The runway 24R guard lights go off automatically when you change the intensity of the runway lights. No alarms sound or any alert to the situation. I just happened to notice they went off. This has been told to city operations and the front line managers at cle but it has yet to get fixed. We taxi airplanes to this runway for departure. These lights needs to stay on whenever runway 24R is in use.callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter indicated that the subject anomaly has not been corrected. The reporter stated that the guard lights referenced in the report are the imbedded flashing yellow lights that cross the taxiway.

Title: CLE CTLR EXPRESSED CONCERN REGARDING FAILURE OF RWY 24R GUARD LIGHTS WHEN RWY LIGHT INTENSITY IS CHANGED.

Narrative: THE RWY 24R GUARD LIGHTS GO OFF AUTOMATICALLY WHEN YOU CHANGE THE INTENSITY OF THE RWY LIGHTS. NO ALARMS SOUND OR ANY ALERT TO THE SITUATION. I JUST HAPPENED TO NOTICE THEY WENT OFF. THIS HAS BEEN TOLD TO CITY OPERATIONS AND THE FRONT LINE MANAGERS AT CLE BUT IT HAS YET TO GET FIXED. WE TAXI AIRPLANES TO THIS RWY FOR DEP. THESE LIGHTS NEEDS TO STAY ON WHENEVER RWY 24R IS IN USE.CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE RPTR INDICATED THAT THE SUBJECT ANOMALY HAS NOT BEEN CORRECTED. THE RPTR STATED THAT THE GUARD LIGHTS REFERENCED IN THE RPT ARE THE IMBEDDED FLASHING YELLOW LIGHTS THAT CROSS THE TXWY.
