Narrative:

On descent to lga; given descent to 17000 ft from above FL180. Passing FL180; altimeters were changed to local altimeter setting (29.36). While adjusting altimeter setting during expedited descent got a TA on traffic below; viewed TCAS with altimeter setting not completed. Approaching leveloff at 17000 ft; reset altimeter setting and received RA. Altimeter setting showed altitude roll down to approximately 16700 ft; and climbing due to RA commanded climb. Other aircraft received RA as well. No conflict note from controling agency.

Title: B757 FLT CREW RECEIVES A TCAS RA DURING DSCNT LEVELOFF.

Narrative: ON DSCNT TO LGA; GIVEN DSCNT TO 17000 FT FROM ABOVE FL180. PASSING FL180; ALTIMETERS WERE CHANGED TO LCL ALTIMETER SETTING (29.36). WHILE ADJUSTING ALTIMETER SETTING DURING EXPEDITED DSCNT GOT A TA ON TFC BELOW; VIEWED TCAS WITH ALTIMETER SETTING NOT COMPLETED. APCHING LEVELOFF AT 17000 FT; RESET ALTIMETER SETTING AND RECEIVED RA. ALTIMETER SETTING SHOWED ALT ROLL DOWN TO APPROX 16700 FT; AND CLBING DUE TO RA COMMANDED CLB. OTHER ACFT RECEIVED RA AS WELL. NO CONFLICT NOTE FROM CTLING AGENCY.
