Narrative:

Aircraft was brought to gate from hangar. Flight attendants advised that there was a water leak in the aft galley. Called maintenance. Maintenance advised that a fitting was loose and would try to tighten to stop leak or would have to shut off water supply to aircraft. I talked to maintenance supervisor on jetbridge and agreed that shutting off water was acceptable if bottled water and handy-wipes were provided. Maintenance signed off logbook with entry indicating water shut off. En route flight attendants advised that water did not appear to have been shut off. We advised flight attendants to soak up water with blankets and advise us of any possible electrical odors. First officer and I discussed the possibilities of why water would still be leaking and faucets in the lavatories would still be operating. I decided to call maintenance control and explained the situation. Flight attendant was privy to my conversation with technician. I advised that we were 1 hour and 15 mins from our destination ZZZ1 and that water was still leaking. I explained that flight attendants were concerned and advised that over an inch of water was on the aft galley floor. Technician advised to continue to ZZZ1 because no vital components should be affected. Technician advised to use blankets to soak up water and shut off power to galleys. I made decision with first officer's concurrence to land at ZZZ1. We advised flight attendants to use blankets to soak up water and that we were turning off galley power for the remainder of flight. Technician advised ZZZ1 for maintenance.
