Narrative:
During a photo flight; the #2 and #1 aircraft brushed against each other. The #2 aircraft had a wingtip mission pod and the rear fairing of the pod was dented when it impacted the #1 aircraft's wingtip. Damage was minor. Both pilots were experienced formation pilots and in trying to take a picture of #2 and #3 aircraft without the wing blocking the picture the element was flying more forward than normal. The cause was probably due to an attempt to get a photo from a platform that was less than optimal for this purpose and #2 losing sufficient visual references to perceive the proximity to #1's aircraft. Both airplanes landed uneventfully.

Narrative: DURING A PHOTO FLT; THE #2 AND #1 ACFT BRUSHED AGAINST EACH OTHER. THE #2 ACFT HAD A WINGTIP MISSION POD AND THE REAR FAIRING OF THE POD WAS DENTED WHEN IT IMPACTED THE #1 ACFT'S WINGTIP. DAMAGE WAS MINOR. BOTH PLTS WERE EXPERIENCED FORMATION PLTS AND IN TRYING TO TAKE A PICTURE OF #2 AND #3 ACFT WITHOUT THE WING BLOCKING THE PICTURE THE ELEMENT WAS FLYING MORE FORWARD THAN NORMAL. THE CAUSE WAS PROBABLY DUE TO AN ATTEMPT TO GET A PHOTO FROM A PLATFORM THAT WAS LESS THAN OPTIMAL FOR THIS PURPOSE AND #2 LOSING SUFFICIENT VISUAL REFS TO PERCEIVE THE PROX TO #1'S ACFT.
