Narrative:

Made the new call out of decision altitude at the 2500 ft callout. Started to think how awkward it felt to make this call at this point. A B747-400 landing ahead of us was landing long and we were waiting to see if he would clear. The tower was talking to another aircraft at the OM. Then started to talk to the -400. About that time I realized the gear was not down. I called for the gear and just after that; the gear not down horn started to go off. I then pulled the thrust levers off because the speed was building. I called for full flaps. I landed a little long but was able to clear the runway within normal distances for landing. I feel there was a lot of distrs at critical times. I allowed myself to not look through these distrs and fly the plane.

Title: A320 FLT CREW BECOMES DISTR DURING APCH AND LANDS LONG AT ORD.

Narrative: MADE THE NEW CALL OUT OF DECISION ALT AT THE 2500 FT CALLOUT. STARTED TO THINK HOW AWKWARD IT FELT TO MAKE THIS CALL AT THIS POINT. A B747-400 LNDG AHEAD OF US WAS LNDG LONG AND WE WERE WAITING TO SEE IF HE WOULD CLR. THE TWR WAS TALKING TO ANOTHER ACFT AT THE OM. THEN STARTED TO TALK TO THE -400. ABOUT THAT TIME I REALIZED THE GEAR WAS NOT DOWN. I CALLED FOR THE GEAR AND JUST AFTER THAT; THE GEAR NOT DOWN HORN STARTED TO GO OFF. I THEN PULLED THE THRUST LEVERS OFF BECAUSE THE SPD WAS BUILDING. I CALLED FOR FULL FLAPS. I LANDED A LITTLE LONG BUT WAS ABLE TO CLR THE RWY WITHIN NORMAL DISTANCES FOR LNDG. I FEEL THERE WAS A LOT OF DISTRS AT CRITICAL TIMES. I ALLOWED MYSELF TO NOT LOOK THROUGH THESE DISTRS AND FLY THE PLANE.
