Narrative:

On approach to FAF/marker runway 9; flaps were set at 20 degrees. Selected flaps 25 degrees. The trailing edge flap disagreement light came on. Flap gauge indicated flaps were still at 20 degrees. Re-selected flaps 20 degrees with the flap handle momentarily and then re-selected flaps 25 degrees. No change in the flap gauge indication or trailing edge flap disagreement light. Initiated go around with flap handle and gauge both at flaps 20 degrees. Performed appropriate checklist; declared emergency with ATC; then made approach and landing as per checklist on runway 9. Crash fire rescue equipment equipment visually inspected flap and wing area and reported nothing unusual or leaks. Left flap handle at 20 degrees through parking checklist. Notified maintenance; dispatch; and on-duty chief pilot at flight office.

Narrative: ON APCH TO FAF/MARKER RWY 9; FLAPS WERE SET AT 20 DEGS. SELECTED FLAPS 25 DEGS. THE TRAILING EDGE FLAP DISAGREEMENT LIGHT CAME ON. FLAP GAUGE INDICATED FLAPS WERE STILL AT 20 DEGS. RE-SELECTED FLAPS 20 DEGS WITH THE FLAP HANDLE MOMENTARILY AND THEN RE-SELECTED FLAPS 25 DEGS. NO CHANGE IN THE FLAP GAUGE INDICATION OR TRAILING EDGE FLAP DISAGREEMENT LIGHT. INITIATED GAR WITH FLAP HANDLE AND GAUGE BOTH AT FLAPS 20 DEGS. PERFORMED APPROPRIATE CHKLIST; DECLARED EMER WITH ATC; THEN MADE APCH AND LNDG AS PER CHKLIST ON RWY 9. CFR EQUIP VISUALLY INSPECTED FLAP AND WING AREA AND RPTED NOTHING UNUSUAL OR LEAKS. L FLAP HANDLE AT 20 DEGS THROUGH PARKING CHKLIST. NOTIFIED MAINT; DISPATCH; AND ON-DUTY CHIEF PLT AT FLT OFFICE.
