Narrative:

On may/sun/06; a B737-200 lower nlg torsion link was installed. The incorrect part may have been issued because: 1) I entered the incorrect manufacturer dash number when ordering (both -200 and -400 share the same basic part number). 2) the wrong part was pulled from stores. As the person signing off the initial paperwork I did not confirm the manufacturer part number against the illustrated parts catalog. The assumption that the correct part was issued/installed; is the ultimate reason this event occurred.
