Narrative:

I was on my long cross country to torrance and had just taken off from myf. Everything looked good until at about 3000 ft I looked down and all I could see was clouds. Next I contacted socal to get flight following and they said I was denied because I was in class B airspace. Next I asked for routing back to myf and I was denied again. I circled and asked again for routing back to myf and was denied once more. Finally I contacted montgomery tower and they helped me get back.

Title: STUDENT PLT OF PA28 IS CAUGHT ON TOP OF AN OVCST AND IN SOCAL AIRSPACE. SOCAL REFUSED TO PROVIDE ASSISTANCE.

Narrative: I WAS ON MY LONG XCOUNTRY TO TORRANCE AND HAD JUST TAKEN OFF FROM MYF. EVERYTHING LOOKED GOOD UNTIL AT ABOUT 3000 FT I LOOKED DOWN AND ALL I COULD SEE WAS CLOUDS. NEXT I CONTACTED SOCAL TO GET FLT FOLLOWING AND THEY SAID I WAS DENIED BECAUSE I WAS IN CLASS B AIRSPACE. NEXT I ASKED FOR ROUTING BACK TO MYF AND I WAS DENIED AGAIN. I CIRCLED AND ASKED AGAIN FOR ROUTING BACK TO MYF AND WAS DENIED ONCE MORE. FINALLY I CONTACTED MONTGOMERY TWR AND THEY HELPED ME GET BACK.
