Narrative:

On jul/xa/06 at approximately XA00 at adams airport; little rock; ar; we began to taxi out to runway 18. When we were cleared for takeoff; we inadvertently took off on another taxiway approximately 140 degrees from runway 18. The markings in that corner of the airport are very unclr. I did not realize the error until I was airborne. The tower said they called me. I did not hear them. When you power a C340 up to full power and propellers at 2800 RPM; it is very noisy. There were no other aircraft landing or taking off at the time. I am very embarrassed. This is the first time in over 20 yrs of flying that this has happened. I realize that I was not paying proper attention.

THERE WERE NO OTHER ACFT LNDG OR TAKING OFF AT THE TIME. I AM VERY EMBARRASSED. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME IN OVER 20 YRS OF FLYING THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED. I REALIZE THAT I WAS NOT PAYING PROPER ATTN.
