Narrative:

I was towing gliders in a C172. In between tows; I was waiting in the C172 on the apron for the glider to return. The engine was idling and I was facing outward towards the taxiway/runway. A stearman biplane landed; exited the runway; crossed the taxiway; and headed towards me. I thought he was going to turn; but realized late that he didn't see me at all and was going to collide with me. I called on the radio and then gunned the engine to veer right to avoid him. He stopped his taxi while I veered. An incident was avoided but it was too close for comfort. If he hadn't stopped when he did; I'm not sure I could have gotten out of the way soon enough. Although he was at fault for failing to clear his path; I was very late on recognizing there was an imminent collision.
