Narrative:

At a time of high density altitude and full fuel; the engine was leaned and takeoff attempted. Normal rotation speed was attained; but plane was not coming off the runway; so the takeoff was aborted. Insufficient rudder control was used and the plane left the runway and traveled a distance before returning to the runway. The airplane was inspected and no structural damage was found. A repeat takeoff was attempted; this time with 10 degrees of flaps added and takeoff was successful. With attention focused on controling the aircraft I can't be sure whether or not I may have inadvertently run through some taxiway or landing lighting.

Title: C182 HAS RWY EXCURSION WHEN PERFORMING A REJECTED TKOF.

Narrative: AT A TIME OF HIGH DENSITY ALT AND FULL FUEL; THE ENG WAS LEANED AND TKOF ATTEMPTED. NORMAL ROTATION SPD WAS ATTAINED; BUT PLANE WAS NOT COMING OFF THE RWY; SO THE TKOF WAS ABORTED. INSUFFICIENT RUDDER CTL WAS USED AND THE PLANE LEFT THE RWY AND TRAVELED A DISTANCE BEFORE RETURNING TO THE RWY. THE AIRPLANE WAS INSPECTED AND NO STRUCTURAL DAMAGE WAS FOUND. A REPEAT TKOF WAS ATTEMPTED; THIS TIME WITH 10 DEGS OF FLAPS ADDED AND TKOF WAS SUCCESSFUL. WITH ATTN FOCUSED ON CTLING THE ACFT I CAN'T BE SURE WHETHER OR NOT I MAY HAVE INADVERTENTLY RUN THROUGH SOME TXWY OR LNDG LIGHTING.
