Narrative:

Approximately 20 mins after departing dca and at FL230; 290 KTS around vills intersection we had this EICAS message: pitch trim fail; autoplt fail; automatic confign trim fail. The first officer (PF) continued to fly the aircraft while the captain reviewed the QRH. The QRH procedure did not correct the problem. I called dispatch via atl radio phone patch and reached an agreement to continue to btv. On descent we followed the pitch/roll malfunction descent checklist; notified the flight attendants to prepare the cabin and notified ATC to have the equipment on standby in btv. On final we followed the QRH pitch/roll malfunction landing checklist and landed in btv with no further problems. At the gate in btv I deactivated both dvdr's per QRH NTSB reportable event and made the required logbook entries.
