Narrative:

Flight was delayed several mins during taxi out waiting for the load closeout. When the load closeout came; the takeoff weight was greater than planned takeoff weight; but less than actual takeoff weight. The necessary adjustments were made in the CDU and standard power was used for takeoff. The takeoff appeared normal. 1 hour 42 mins after takeoff; dispatch informed us of a possible cargo loading error. 15 mins later; dispatch confirmed that 5204 pounds of air bag inflators intended to go to kix was loaded on our aircraft by mistake. Dispatch also informed us of the restr article class. Load sent a revised load closeout; with the increased weights and the RA location. I established voice contact with dispatch and discussed the situation. We examined the effects on the flight; and we concurred that the flight could continue safely to nrt and was the safest course of action. Dispatch sent a new flight plan showing the increase fuel burn. The necessary corrections were made to the FMC and the flight continued without further incident.

Title: A B777-200 CREW ENRTE TO NRT WAS NOTIFIED THAT 5200 LBS OF RESTR CARGO WAS LOADED ON THEIR ACFT IN ERROR. THEY CONSULTED WITH DISPATCH AND CONTINUED.

Narrative: FLT WAS DELAYED SEVERAL MINS DURING TAXI OUT WAITING FOR THE LOAD CLOSEOUT. WHEN THE LOAD CLOSEOUT CAME; THE TKOF WT WAS GREATER THAN PLANNED TKOF WT; BUT LESS THAN ACTUAL TKOF WT. THE NECESSARY ADJUSTMENTS WERE MADE IN THE CDU AND STANDARD PWR WAS USED FOR TKOF. THE TKOF APPEARED NORMAL. 1 HR 42 MINS AFTER TKOF; DISPATCH INFORMED US OF A POSSIBLE CARGO LOADING ERROR. 15 MINS LATER; DISPATCH CONFIRMED THAT 5204 LBS OF AIR BAG INFLATORS INTENDED TO GO TO KIX WAS LOADED ON OUR ACFT BY MISTAKE. DISPATCH ALSO INFORMED US OF THE RESTR ARTICLE CLASS. LOAD SENT A REVISED LOAD CLOSEOUT; WITH THE INCREASED WTS AND THE RA LOCATION. I ESTABLISHED VOICE CONTACT WITH DISPATCH AND DISCUSSED THE SIT. WE EXAMINED THE EFFECTS ON THE FLT; AND WE CONCURRED THAT THE FLT COULD CONTINUE SAFELY TO NRT AND WAS THE SAFEST COURSE OF ACTION. DISPATCH SENT A NEW FLT PLAN SHOWING THE INCREASE FUEL BURN. THE NECESSARY CORRECTIONS WERE MADE TO THE FMC AND THE FLT CONTINUED WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT.
