Narrative:

53 mins after takeoff we received revision #01 to our load closeout which indicated our cargo weight had changed from 44272 pounds to 34659 pounds due to an error in nomenclature. Apparently 1 or 2 pallets were thought to be labeled as kilograms and; therefore; their weights were multiplied by 2.2 to convert to pounds but the reality was; they really were in pounds; thus the reduction in cargo weight in the revision. The new closeout changed the stabilizer trim setting from 5.7 to 4.7; but the first officer said he felt no unusual trim forces during the takeoff. My concern was whether our landing center of gravity would be within limits and asked dispatch to notify us if there was a problem. While there was little we could do as pilots to affect the outcome of the situation; I feel it warrants a report.

Title: B777 FLT CREW IS ADVISED AFTER DEP OF AN INCORRECT CARGO LOAD CLOSEOUT.

Narrative: 53 MINS AFTER TKOF WE RECEIVED REVISION #01 TO OUR LOAD CLOSEOUT WHICH INDICATED OUR CARGO WT HAD CHANGED FROM 44272 LBS TO 34659 LBS DUE TO AN ERROR IN NOMENCLATURE. APPARENTLY 1 OR 2 PALLETS WERE THOUGHT TO BE LABELED AS KILOGRAMS AND; THEREFORE; THEIR WTS WERE MULTIPLIED BY 2.2 TO CONVERT TO LBS BUT THE REALITY WAS; THEY REALLY WERE IN LBS; THUS THE REDUCTION IN CARGO WT IN THE REVISION. THE NEW CLOSEOUT CHANGED THE STABILIZER TRIM SETTING FROM 5.7 TO 4.7; BUT THE FO SAID HE FELT NO UNUSUAL TRIM FORCES DURING THE TKOF. MY CONCERN WAS WHETHER OUR LNDG CTR OF GRAVITY WOULD BE WITHIN LIMITS AND ASKED DISPATCH TO NOTIFY US IF THERE WAS A PROB. WHILE THERE WAS LITTLE WE COULD DO AS PLTS TO AFFECT THE OUTCOME OF THE SITUATION; I FEEL IT WARRANTS A RPT.
