Narrative:

We were cleared to taxi to runway 31; intersection F for departure. As we approached taxiway F I noticed the taxiway; which runs perpendicular to the parallel taxiway referencing the runway; had a pronounced crown. I was distraction by having to taxi over this crown without causing damage to the aircraft and did not see the hold short line; which I believe may have been on top of the crown on taxiway F. As we approached the end of runway 31 the tower notified us we had crossed the hold short line. In a phone call with the tower supervisor; he said he wanted me to be aware the 'new' hold short line was located 1200 ft from the runway 31 threshold. I believe this incursion could be averted in the future by not having the hold short line co-located with the crown on taxiway F.

Title: C560 DEP FROM MDT CROSSED RWY 31 HOLD LINE DURING TAXI OUT; RPTR INDICATES CROWNED TXWY MAY HAVE DIMINISHED HOLD LINE VISIBILITY.

Narrative: WE WERE CLRED TO TAXI TO RWY 31; INTXN F FOR DEP. AS WE APCHED TXWY F I NOTICED THE TXWY; WHICH RUNS PERPENDICULAR TO THE PARALLEL TXWY REFING THE RWY; HAD A PRONOUNCED CROWN. I WAS DISTR BY HAVING TO TAXI OVER THIS CROWN WITHOUT CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE ACFT AND DID NOT SEE THE HOLD SHORT LINE; WHICH I BELIEVE MAY HAVE BEEN ON TOP OF THE CROWN ON TXWY F. AS WE APCHED THE END OF RWY 31 THE TWR NOTIFIED US WE HAD CROSSED THE HOLD SHORT LINE. IN A PHONE CALL WITH THE TWR SUPVR; HE SAID HE WANTED ME TO BE AWARE THE 'NEW' HOLD SHORT LINE WAS LOCATED 1200 FT FROM THE RWY 31 THRESHOLD. I BELIEVE THIS INCURSION COULD BE AVERTED IN THE FUTURE BY NOT HAVING THE HOLD SHORT LINE CO-LOCATED WITH THE CROWN ON TXWY F.
