Narrative:

I landed at ful on runway 24. After touchdown I tried to stop the aircraft by use of the brakes. The wheels locked and the airplane started to skid and; therefore; was not stopping. I corrected by easing my feet off the brake pedals and by varying the force I used to push the pedals. This helped as the wheels unlocked and the aircraft started to stop. However; the runway at ful is only 2800 ft and I was running out of runway. I was able to stop the airplane approximately 20 ft into the gravel past the northwest end of runway. There were no injuries; nor was any damage caused to the aircraft or to airport property.
