Narrative:

Additional paper was inserted into the release. It was a copy of a government chart for tpa. On this chart; it indicated that the current commercial chart for tpa was incorrect. This government chart indicated by a caution note on the bottom to inform pilots that the taxiway signage changes the commercial chart were not yet changed on the airport surface area making the commercial chart inaccurate as to airport taxiway signage. The government chart received had an effective timeframe as to the effective change of when the airport signage on the surface area was to be completed. If tpa operations did not take the time to make photo copies of this page and insert it into releases; this information would not have been disseminated. The signage that has not been changed are a taxiway on the east side of the airport and certain taxiway intxns. Even though you are legal with the current commercial updates; you may not have all the correct information to taxi on the surface area at tpa. I feel the chart manufacturer should be notified; or a copy of this government chart should be attained from tpa operations or the tpa commercial charts themselves and distribute it via an operations memo for those pilots have not been to tpa. The problem and safety issue could arise when visibility is reduced and the taxi instructions given can be different from those on the commercial page itself.

Title: EMB135 PLT IS CONCERNED WITH THE COMMERCIAL CHART FOR TPA.

Narrative: ADDITIONAL PAPER WAS INSERTED INTO THE RELEASE. IT WAS A COPY OF A GOV CHART FOR TPA. ON THIS CHART; IT INDICATED THAT THE CURRENT COMMERCIAL CHART FOR TPA WAS INCORRECT. THIS GOV CHART INDICATED BY A CAUTION NOTE ON THE BOTTOM TO INFORM PLTS THAT THE TXWY SIGNAGE CHANGES THE COMMERCIAL CHART WERE NOT YET CHANGED ON THE ARPT SURFACE AREA MAKING THE COMMERCIAL CHART INACCURATE AS TO ARPT TXWY SIGNAGE. THE GOV CHART RECEIVED HAD AN EFFECTIVE TIMEFRAME AS TO THE EFFECTIVE CHANGE OF WHEN THE ARPT SIGNAGE ON THE SURFACE AREA WAS TO BE COMPLETED. IF TPA OPS DID NOT TAKE THE TIME TO MAKE PHOTO COPIES OF THIS PAGE AND INSERT IT INTO RELEASES; THIS INFO WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN DISSEMINATED. THE SIGNAGE THAT HAS NOT BEEN CHANGED ARE A TXWY ON THE E SIDE OF THE ARPT AND CERTAIN TXWY INTXNS. EVEN THOUGH YOU ARE LEGAL WITH THE CURRENT COMMERCIAL UPDATES; YOU MAY NOT HAVE ALL THE CORRECT INFO TO TAXI ON THE SURFACE AREA AT TPA. I FEEL THE CHART MANUFACTURER SHOULD BE NOTIFIED; OR A COPY OF THIS GOV CHART SHOULD BE ATTAINED FROM TPA OPS OR THE TPA COMMERCIAL CHARTS THEMSELVES AND DISTRIBUTE IT VIA AN OPS MEMO FOR THOSE PLTS HAVE NOT BEEN TO TPA. THE PROB AND SAFETY ISSUE COULD ARISE WHEN VISIBILITY IS REDUCED AND THE TAXI INSTRUCTIONS GIVEN CAN BE DIFFERENT FROM THOSE ON THE COMMERCIAL PAGE ITSELF.
