Narrative:

Following an uneventful takeoff; the PNF raised the gear handle. After the lights went out there was a loud vibration as if the nose gear was spinning. There were no abnormal lights. The gear was recycled and the noise continued. We leveled off and told ATC we were working an issue. We entered holding to burn down fuel. The vibration continued during the burn down. Upon reaching landing weight; we landed on runway 35R and rolled to a stop on taxiway P7. Ground crew inspected the nose gear and found the right nose gear door extended. We returned to the gate.
