Narrative:

Upon arrival in dca; I went back to inspect aft lavatory regarding a maintenance write-up. Walking back to the front of the aircraft; I noticed the floor very soft and springy near rows 3 and 4 in the aisle. Maintenance was called out. Upon inspection; it was determined a previous repair had been made. The mechanic on hand determined that the previous repair was made with inferior material and did not adequately support the floor. It was his opinion that the floor had a crack in the fiberglas. He told me the metal used was aluminum and was not an appropriate thickness. I am concerned that I unknowingly flew an aircraft in an unsafe condition. The subsequent flight was canceled and the aircraft taken for repairs. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter stated the interim repair was improper as the metal used was too thin and buckled. The airplane was removed from service for a permanent fix.
