Narrative:

While on a bay tour clearance through class B; my student and I came within 1 1/2 mi of a stadium during an event where the capacity of the stadium would make it applicable to the september 11TH NOTAM regarding occupied stadiums. At the time; we were on a discrete code with a class B clearance. We were told before passing the stadium that there wouldn't be a conflict with the september 11TH rules as long as we didn't loiter in the area. Upon further discussion with my student and my boss; I felt compelled to report this occurrence. After thinking about this event; I conclude that it was my fault as PIC to accept a clearance that would violate a regulation; however; at the time I perceived since we were under positive control that such an issue would not be a problem.
