Narrative:

I was replacing first officer's FMS control and display unit (mcdu) left/G lever was interfering. For safety; I installed gear pins before the removal and installation of the first officer's mcdu. I removed the gear pins after I finished mcdu installation. I made a log entry for the installation and removal of pins; but failed to have confirmation check done. I have reviewed the gpm in particular gpm 18-06. While changing first officer FMS mcdu; I was very much concerned of not moving left/G lever in error. As a safety procedure; installed gear pin and removed after job done; made a log entry but failed to comply with gpm 18-06; confirmation check requirement for removal.
